Madonna Thrills with Sexy Dance and Musical Memories as the US Leg of her 'Celebrations Tour' Commences

After a launch in the UK and tour dates in Europe, Madonna's "Celebration Tour" has reached the United States, landing in New York City on Dec. 13 with sexy dance numbers, revisiting her vast catalogue of hits, and leaving critics and fans alike in rapture.

It took a while to get there, though.

As New York tabloid Page Six reported, the Material Girl was not exactly the punctual performer, with the show starting more than two hours late. That meant the show, scheduled to start at 8:30 pm, didn't go on until 11.

Angry fans vented on social media, Page Six, recounted, with one person posting, "If you're 3 hours late, you're just f–king rude."

Another dissed warmup act DJ Honey Dijon as "boring house music."

And all of that despite Bob the Drag Queen being on hand to warm up the crowd, which reportedly topped 14,000.

Aggravated audience members changed their tune once they saw and heard what Madge had in store for them, though.

"Madonna showed UP at Barclays tonight. Late as f–k but she did the thing," Page Six reported one happy fan posted.

In a review of the concert, Rolling Stone took note that the Queen of Pop hardly seemed apologetic for the delay, declaring from the stage, "New Yorkers can identify with just-not-giving-a-fuck motherfuckers. We do shit our way. New York is not for little pussies who sleep."

UK newspaper the Daily Mail delved into the show's titillating costuming and choreography, noting that "Madonna put on a very sultry show alongside a dancer representing her younger self in her 1990 'Blond Ambition' tour, which supported her fourth studio album 'Like A Prayer'."

That number, the paper noted, featured the pop goddess "put[ting] on a very racy display in a lingerie-style garment."

At other moments the costumes included wardrobe that depicted the songstress as "a leggy nun," not to mention "a cowboy hat and boots as well as a metallic figure-hugging catsuit."
