Madonna Thrills with Sexy Dance and Musical Memories as the US Leg of her 'Celebrations Tour' Commences

All of that was just the beginning, though, as the 65-year-old legend proved she's still got it. " 'The Celebration Tour' is one of her raciest concerts yet," the Mail marveled, "as she dons a sexy red corset while being surrounded by topless dancers" in a number that the Daily Mail noted featured Madge laying a kiss on one of her female dancers.

Along those lines, RS observed that some who have been critical of the pop icon would not have had their minds changed by what Madonna brought to the stage – including super-sexy dance moves and provocative religious imagery.

"Pope John Paul II, who denounced Madonna's 1990 'Blond Ambition' tour as 'one of the most satanic shows in the history of humanity,' would not have approved of her rendition of 'Like a Prayer' where she joined the would-be messiahs and climbed all over them until a musician dressed as Prince played a beatific guitar solo," the music magazine recounted.

"And his Holiness would have absolutely blanched at the third act," RS went on to add, characterizing that segment of the show as an "orgy" that "began with erotic boxing in laser-banded rings, as Madonna sang 'Erotica,' and... congealed into a mass of people for 'Justify My Love.'

"She just climbed right in and gave out kisses" to those who shared the stage, the music mag added.

As massive as the seven-act opus was – and despite its length, not ending until 1 am – RS pointed out that there was no including every "Celebration"-worthy track.

"Her set list contained 27 career-spanning hits – a rarity for Madonna since she usually focuses her tours on her most recent album – and even with 'Like a Prayer,' 'Open Your Heart,' 'Vogue,' and 'Into the Groove,' it still omitted several Number Ones."

The Daily Mail offered an super-sized version of how the show unfolded, claiming that the concert consisted of "an ambitious 45-song setlist" and didn't end until 2 in the morning.

The late start wasn't the first time the party got going past the scheduled time. The October 14 inaugural show in London started twenty minutes late. Still, it's not bad given that the concert was delayed for months past its intended June launch, after Madonna was hospitalized with a bacterial infection she has said was nearly fatal.

There's no trace of last summer's malaise now, reports indicate. Brace yourself, America: Madonna's bringing her "Celebration" to venues around the country through February, including Washington, D.C., Boston, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Detroit.
