Watch: Drew Barrymore's 'Attraction to Gay Men' Leads to a Kiss... with Matt Bomer

Drew Barrymore may have gotten more than she bargained for when her quip about finding gay men attractive led to an on-air snog with one of the most attractive gay men out there – Matt Bomer.

"The 46-year-old actor and his 'Fellow Travelers' co-star Jonathan Bailey were on the show to talk about their Showtime series," Just Jared reported.

Barrymore got the ball rolling when she recalled "growing up in West Hollywood in the '70s and everyone was gay." Relating her own story back to the miniseries – in which Bomer and Bailey play very different government employees who carry on a passionate, years-long affair in the midst of Joseph McCarthy's "Lavender Scare," a push to purge the government and armed forces of LGBTQ+ Americans – she exclaimed over the "hot sex scenes" that Bomer and Bailey share in the show.

"There's so much going on," Barrymore said. "I mean, you two are at the center of it, and you're both so hot. There's so much hot..." Barrymore, perhaps feeling a little too warm herself at that moment, paused for breath as the audience erupted in whoops and applause.

Bomer and Bailey glanced at each other, giggling.

"And of course, I'm just like, oh my god, I'm watching... Don't get me started with 'Bridgerton,' Jonathan," Barrymore quipped, referencing another hit show in which Bailey plays a smoldering role.

"You have made me blush more in the last few years than I can handle!" Barrymore added, before going on to say that she "sob[bed]" while watching Bailey and Bomer's intimate love scenes.

"And Matt, you're so hot," Barrymore said, turning to the "White Collar" star before going on to add: "I don't know what's wrong with me. I never meet a straight man I'm attracted to. I only am attracted to gay men.... It's like I'm barking up the wrong tree!"

Assuring Barrymore that it's all a matter of her having "good taste," Bomer then let her know that gay men love her back – or, at least, he does.

"I love you enough for all of us," Bomer declared. It wasn't long until the two were sharing a kiss... but only because, Barrymore claimed, they had shared something else already: kissing openly gay actor Andrew Rannells.

"Well, I think we should round it out," Bomer reasoned. "We have to close the circle." Bailey patted Bomer on the back and then cried out, "Awww!" as Bomer and Barrymore fell into a momentary clench.

Barrymore all but swooned when the kiss ended, falling backward in her chair, and Bomer mimicked her as the audience continued to cheer.

The kiss between Barrymore and Bomer wasn't the only time recently a gay man and a straight woman puckered up for the airwaves. Last June, openly gay "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen shared a snog with "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence, who encouraged Cohen to go for it, telling him, "I just feel like you've kissed John Mayer, but you've never kissed me."

The kiss done, Barrymore reiterated her dilemma of finding gay men attractive. Springing up, swoon over, she declared, "This is the only action I get!"
